Survey Exposes Americans’ Negative Views on Financial Future

Following the latest Federal Reserve rate increase and US Department Of Labor inflation data being released, analysts and investors are unsure of what the economy will look like by 2023. However, many people anticipate a recession. The recent survey by real estate data company Clever questioned a group of 1000 Americans on 21 questions related to the US economy. The Clever report indicates that 5 percent of Americans regard the economy as the most pressing issue right now. 43% of those surveyed listed it among the top three most significant matters.

Clever’s results from the survey reveal that only two out of three Americans are aware of the potential impacts of the Ukraine-Russia conflict and the Covid-19 pandemic on the economy. The respondents were most likely to forecast a decline in the US stock markets, with 38% saying so. Some 33% believe that the crypto market will crash. 28% think it will be the labor markets. 27% believe that the real estate markets will collapse. The analysis also uncovered that 22% of respondents are female. Clever’s survey participants are unconvinced that the US has not had one positive financial year in the last decade.

When it comes to the crypto ecosystem, Clever researchers found that 31% of respondents view cryptocurrency negatively. This data is supported by the 57% of Baby Boomers who view cryptocurrencies in a negative light. Some 77% of those surveyed anticipate that prices of goods and services will increase. 70% fear that inflationary pressures will push them into bankruptcy. The data also reveals that 70% of Americans are having difficulty paying for basic necessities, and 82% believe the government should act. 78
