Germany’s largest federal bank, Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW), has announced a partnership with Bitpanda, a cryptocurrency exchange based in Austria. The collaboration will see LBBW utilizing Bitpanda’s technology to develop its own cryptocurrency custody solution.

This announcement was made on Monday, with Bitpanda sharing the news on Twitter. The partnership between LBBW and Bitpanda will allow the bank to offer crypto custody and investment services to its corporate clients.

As part of the partnership, Bitpanda Technology Solutions will provide LBBW with access to its “Investment-as-a-Service” infrastructure for offering crypto services. This will include access to cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, with further developments expected in the coming months.

According to Dr. Jürgen Harengel, COO Corporate Bank LBBW, there has been an increasing demand for digital assets from their corporate customers. The partnership with Bitpanda will allow the bank to support the individual crypto strategies of its clients.

Lukas Enzersdofer-Konrad from Bitpanda also expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that it will provide an excellent opportunity for customers to gain access to digital assets.
