Bitget, the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, recently released a report on the growth of its Middle East and North African (MENA) regions since its launch in November 2023. The company has seen significant success in the region, with over 2.5 million users and a total of 25 million users worldwide.
In line with its global scaling strategy, Bitget announced its expansion into the MENA region last year, with plans to establish a regional hub in the United Arab Emirates and hire 60 employees. In just six months, Bitget has seen a 500% increase in trading volumes in the MENA region, with a focus on providing localized solutions for its users.
According to Sam A Spiers, Regional Director for Bitget MENA, the company will continue to strengthen its operations in the region, taking advantage of its high adoption rates and crypto-friendly landscape. Bitget is also exploring partnerships with blockchain and crypto projects to support local entrepreneurs and products.
In February 2024, Bitget Research released a Bitcoin Halving report, which revealed that over 80% of MENA investors believed the halving had a significant impact on prices. Additionally, 88% of respondents anticipated the recent Bitcoin bull run that resulted in a new all-time high value, making MENA investors the most optimistic among all regions.
As part of its focus on the MENA region, Bitget offers Arabic language support on its website and mobile application. Users in the Middle East also benefit from zero fees for buying and selling cryptocurrencies through Bitget P2P, ensuring a user-friendly experience. The company recently partnered with OnRamp, a leading crypto payment solution provider, to allow users to buy and sell crypto using local currencies such as AED.
According to Gracy Chen, Managing Director of Bitget, the MENA region is expected to see exponential growth in crypto transactions, prompting the company to explore license applications in target markets. Bitget has already obtained VASP registration in Poland and Lithuania, and its recent expansion into Türkiye features a fully localized website with tailored services for users.
In addition to its growth plans, Bitget is also focused on creating a seamless ecosystem of crypto products for its users. The company recently launched a Ramadan campaign to celebrate the holy month and offers 0 fees for buying Bitcoin and Ethereum on spot trading, along with free bank transfers.
Established in 2018, Bitget is committed to helping users trade smarter with its pioneering copy trading feature and other trading solutions. The company also offers a world-class multi-chain crypto wallet and has collaborated with credible partners such as football legend Lionel Messi and eSports organizer PGL.
