The Ethereum Clients are essential to the success of the whole network. Both execution layer Y consensus layer customers are vital for the post-merger future of Ethereum.
The top priority of the Ethereum Foundation is to serve the clients. These teams supported the growth of Ethereum in the past few years and will continue to provide critical infrastructure to the network as the Ethereum transitions to a Proof-of-Stake consensus system. Since January 2020, the EF has spent more than $10 million on client R&D for runtime-layer clients. These teams will continue to receive strong support as they adapt and grow with the larger community.
We believe that it is important for the health of Ethereum that its customers receive support and funding from a diverse range of community stakeholders. This is a reflection of the growth and diversification of the ecosystem.
Working Together
TodayWe are proud to announce the following: Compound Grants, kraken, Swimming pool, synthetic, The graph Y Uniswap Grants Each entity will be donating $250K to support Ethereum execution layer client teams. This project is the result of many months of work and is in addition to the substantial funding provided by the Ethereum Foundation this year. This fundraising will not affect EF’s ongoing financial support of these teams.
The support of leaders and capable entities from all industries will help to strengthen and promote innovation within the Ethereum network.
