Canada’s biggest pension fund, CPP Investments, which has over $382 million in assets, has terminated its exploration into cryptocurrency investments. Reuters was informed of this news by two anonymous sources.
The exact rationale for this decision has not been disclosed. CPPI in 2021 established Alpha Generation Lab, an investigative team of three individuals, in order to examine cryptocurrency and related businesses.
Insiders have confirmed that all plans have been dropped and the teams have been reassigned to other areas.
