This week, some of the most popular cryptocurrencies will have their token unlock events. On Wednesday, ApeCoin will release an additional 15.6 million tokens, worth over $31.4 million. Oasis Network will also unlock tokens worth over $8 million this week. Injective, backed by Mark Cuban, will also unlock tokens worth over $20 million.

These token unlocks will lead to major dilution among holders, which has already caused the SAND token to drop to its lowest level since June. Most of the tokens released by ApeCoin will go to the Treasury, followed by Yuga Labs, its founder, and launch contributors. The last ApeCoin token unlock will happen on June 26th.

Oasis Network’s last token sale happened in May 18th, when 199.50 million tokens were unlocked. These tokens will go to partners and reserve, core contributors, and the community. The last token unlock will take place in February 2031.

Injective’s final vesting will take place in April 2024. The token unlocks tend to be bearish for cryptocurrencies, as they lead to more dilution. They are often seen as the reversal of share buybacks in the corporate sector.
