Gitcoin CLR Matching

Gitcoin CLR Grants is one of the earliest real-world uses of Ethereum and is a form of Quadratic Funding. This means the number of unique contributors that a grant leads to is given greater weight when determining how much the counterpart is.

The platform has seen a number of recent upgrades including a “shopping cart” where you can donate to multiple grants simultaneously, integration with zksync, and collections of top picks from other users.

EIP 1559 R&D

Proposals to modify the Ethereum fee market, EIP 1559, have been a major topic since 2019. Funds were sent to a 1559 multisig to coordinate research and development efforts by signers representing various organizations. This grant was used to continue the progress made in the EIP 1559 before the grant.

You can track the progress of the EIP 1559 R&D on Tim Beiko’s page which is regularly updated with notes for implementers and a main network preparation checklist.

Quick Mentions

Finally, we’d like to give a shout out to all the teams, builders and customers who contributed to the successful launch of the eth2 beacon chain on December 1st!

Until next year!
