
The month of December saw the Ethereum Foundation make great strides in its development, including the ongoing proof-of-stake/sharding investigation, the thin client slowdown, and the advancement of privacy technologies. Vlad Zamfir provided insights into Casper and the economics of community governance and protocol. Additionally, Greg Colvin proposed modifications to the system and the Ethereum Name System, which launched on the Ropsten testnet, saw an EIP open to support reverse resolution of Ethereum addresses. Furthermore, the data storage-focused “sister protocol” Swarm also moved forward. As we look ahead to the new year, the Ethereum community has much to be excited about.
