We’ve come a long way since we first wrote about Devcon and our renewed focus to growing the Ethereum ecosystem.
Today, we are pleased to present a new version. Devcon 6 and details about the dates, venues, and other related information.
🥁 Devcon 6: October 11-14 February 2022 in Bogotá 🥁
It’s official! Devcon 6 will take place in Colombia’s capital city of Bogotá, at the Agora Bogotá Convention Center.
We are delighted to introduce Bogotá to the Ethereum community; this city is the liveliest and most popular in Latin America. It has a wealth of culture, art, history, flavors, and unique experiences. Bogotá is the perfect place to host Devcon and all the attendees.
Colombia is an amazing destination for travelers. It enjoys a pleasant climate throughout the year, and there are many different spots to visit. From the mountains and rivers to cities like Medellín, Cali, Cartagena, and of course, Bogotá. Colombia also has a stable economy and lots of energy.
The venue
Agora Bogotá is a new, recently-built center that we believe will be the perfect place to host Devcon. It’s located minutes away from the El Dorado International Airport and near two of Bogotá’s most notable neighborhoods. Agora Bogotá offers a modern conference space with excellent catering, WiFi, and meeting areas. It’s perfect for an event like Devcon.
The process
We’ve been listening to the Ethereum community and exploring the options for some time now. After considering more than 10 cities, we are confident that Bogotá is the perfect place for Devcon. It can accommodate the large and growing gathering, and there is potential for a significant presence in the community.
🏟 Expanding the Community 🏟
Devcon has a special meaning to many people, and we are thrilled to be bringing it to South America for the first time. It is a great platform to showcase innovative ideas and accomplishments from the Ethereum builders. Devcon is also an opportunity to welcome new faces and entire communities into the Ethereum world.
We have already been connecting with people and groups in Bogota who are eager to learn more about the Ethereum community. We are working with local business leaders, decision makers, and educational entities to help promote Ethereum technology. Devcon week is more than an event; it’s a diverse set of meetups, subconferences, and more. This year, we plan to add more local flavor, connect with other events, and support local businesses.
