Kintsugi🍵 Still in Progress

The month-long Kintsugi🍵Merge Sprint started in early November and is now in full swing. The specifications for this project have been released and teams are working towards launching a persistent testnet by the end of the month. The Kintsugi specifications incorporate any minor changes that were identified from the amphora interop.

Teams are working together on various milestones, such as the development of features, testing, and initial interoperability trials with other customers. The Merge Devnet will be published each week during this month, with the launch of a persistent multiclient testnet concluding the sprint in December. This will provide the basis for merger plans that are made in January.

If you are interested in trying the Merge Software, keep an eye out for client updates and testnet instructions. We expect to see a great deal of community involvement in this project after the launch of the testnet in Week One.

Upgrade To Arrow Glacier

Validators need to be aware of the status of the current proof-of-work chain. On December 8, 2021, the Arrow Glacier difficulty bomb will be deactivated and delayed for several months. Check out the Arrow Glacier advertisement to learn more about the update, including client versions.

Users should upgrade their “eth1 endpoint” (PoW node) on Wednesday, December 5, 2021. Note that variable block times should be taken into account. This is supposed to be the final difficulty bomb before Merge 🚀.
