Kiln🧱🔥 Is Live. Take a Look

It’s been a week since the Kiln🧱🔥 testnet successfully completed the Merge changeover from a PoW to a fully functional PoS network

If validators can be used on the mainnet, it’s the right time to check your post-merge configurations. Go to the Oven Homepage and explore. It’s finally here!

It is indeed

#TestingTheMerge The season is in full swing Get Involved!

The shift from PoW to PoS on Kiln wasn’t without issues. It is possible there was a bug in the Prysm code that caused invalid blocks while some clients were running, and other synchronization errors during the transition.

Even though the clients are now close to ready for prime time, there are still minor software bugs. These are not major problems in the research and core specs, but they do indicate that we’ve been saying for a while: Security and testing will be what determines the date of the final release of Merge.

Therefore, security researchers, testers, and customer teams are doing more testing in all areas in preparation for updating public testsnets. This includes hive tests, kurtosis builds, antithesis coverage and fuzzing of the network-guided guide. Goerli And mainnet shadow-forking, manual code reviews, fuzzing through stacks, enhancing consensus tests, and much more!

We would like to offer a huge thank you to block daemon for providing the Merge IBM $900k test effort cloud credits. Fuzzing is all about bringing more resources to the table than your opponent, so we have these credits to make sure we can eradicate all bugs. We appreciate your understanding.🙏

#TestingTheMerge All hands on deck. Whether it’s running a validator on Kiln or testing your developer workflow, writing a tutorial, upgrading the documentation, or creating a new exotic fuzzer. Every little bit counts!

This is the largest blockchain upgrade in history. Period. So do your part to make it a success. Join us on the Eth Research and Development Discord and follow the Merge #testing channel 🚀
