The Document Suggests Alameda CEO Caroline Ellison’s Account Was $1.3 Billion Negative in May 2022

In interviews with former FTX cofounders, Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) stated that he “didn’t run Alameda” and “didn’t know the size of his role.” In a discussion from a recent meeting with The Block’s Frank Chaparro, SBF explained that auditors were looking at FTX’s corporate finances, but not at client positions or client risk. This week, an insider at FTX spoke with Bitcoin.com News anonymously and shared a document that appears to show Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison’s personal account in the red to the tune of $1.31 billion in May 2022.
