TRON founder Justin Sun has confirmed that his company and BitTorrent are currently looking into integrating zero-knowledge proof technology via zkEVM. Ethereum Virtual Machine.

Zero Knowledge proofs have become increasingly popular across blockchains. They provide enhanced security and privacy, which are paramount for cryptocurrencies and the booming DeFi space.

Polygon launched zkEVM on mainnet on March 27th, and the technology has already been adopted by many projects.

TRON and BitTorrent Investigating zkEVM

TRON (TRX) is a smart contracts platform, while BitTorrent (BTT) is a cryptocurrency used to pay for services on the file-sharing network. Sun acquired the product in a reported $140 million deal in 2018.

TRON and BitTorrent are exploring ways to integrate the ZK Ethereum Virtual Machine (ZKEVM) into its ecosystem. ZK-EVM is a trustless and secure smart contract execution environment that leverages zero-knowledge proofs to ensure the privacy of the transaction data,” Sun said.

According to Sun, integrating zkEVM into the ecosystems could bring many benefits, such as increased privacy and security for smart contracts transactions, increased scalability, and improved interoperability with other blockchain platforms.

The TRX founder however stated that plans for zkEVM integration are still in the works “in the exploratory stage,” With “no guarantee that it will be implemented in the future.”

The TRX price hovered at $0.066, up 3.3% over the previous seven days, while BTT traded at $0.00000063 up 1.8%. Wednesday And about 4% in just the last week.
