Komodo has taken a major step to increase trust and security of its AtomicDEX Mobile by making its source code publicly available. This move is aimed at making the application more dependable, secure and interoperable.

Open-sourcing the codebase will make it freely available and it can be modified and distributed by anyone.

AtomixDEX app

AtomicDEX app is a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet, crypto bridge, and cross-chain decentralized exchange combined into one application that is available on three GUI interfaces (AtpomicDEX Web, AtomicDEX Mobile, and AtomicDEX Desktop).

AtomixDEX Mobile is among the few decentralized applications that are open source as compared to blockchain protocols like Ethereum, which are open source. It should be noted that most mobile crypto wallets in the market today use closed-source source codes which means that end-users or third-party developers can’t change their source code.

Komodo has previously open-sourced AtomicDEX Desktop and now, with AtomicDEX Mobile going open source, the company seeks to create more opportunities for developer collaboration and ecosystem expansion.

Benefits of AtomicDEX Mobile open source

Komodo wants to build technologies that anyone can use freely. Users will be able to check for themselves in real-time that AtomicDEX is really secure. Open-source developers can also use the AtomicDEX API and the AtomicDEX Mobile codebase to create their own dApps that use the AtomicDEX’s wallet function and/or peer-to-peer (P2P) atomic swap technology for cross-chain trading.

The Komodo CTO Kadan Stadelmann made the following statement in light of this move:
