Kraken, one of the oldest crypto exchanges, recently experienced operational delays due to technical issues with its crypto funding gateways. The exact cause of the problem is yet to be disclosed, but the exchange was able to quickly resolve it. This came at a time when crypto exchanges in the US are under scrutiny from the SEC.

Users from various places complained of deposit and withdrawal delays, drawing attention to the delicate infrastructure supporting the transactions. Kraken announced on their status page that deposits and withdrawals were facing difficulties at 7:15 am UTC. By 8:55 am UTC, the delays were resolved, according to an update given by the exchange. Then, at around 10:30 am UTC, Kraken’s futures trading platform was suspended for about 10 minutes for scheduled maintenance.

The SEC has taken legal action against crypto exchanges Binance and Coinbase. This has caused uncertainty since it also affects tokens listed on other crypto exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken, and others operating in the US. Arcra’s Chief Investment Officer commented that this will have indirect effects on tokens listed in the US.

Kraken supports more than 200 cryptocurrencies and six fiat currencies. With this technical glitch, the exchange has shown that it is capable of quickly resolving any issues that may arise, while also highlighting the delicate infrastructure that supports crypto transactions.
