Cryptocurrency miners may have been given an unexpected chance to use their old GPUs again. A new type of coin called Aleo is in its third phase of testnet and is close to its mainline launch, which has generated a lot of interest among miners.
You can find out more by visiting our website here (opens in new window). According to the official Aleo website, the current mining number is around 14,000 tests per second. This is 1000x more than the previous phase. Those who want to mine Aleo will need to find the correct combination of graphics card and processor, as part of the algorithm depends on the processor speed.
The minimum processor recommendation for mining Aleo is 16 cores with 16GB memory and 128GB storage, but the developers suggest 32 cores with 32GB memory for optimal performance. Clock speed and core count are both important, but it is not clear which is more influential. Fortunately, budget options such as the GeForce GTX1660 Super are available, although more powerful cards such as the GeForce RTX 3090 and GeForce RTX 3080 will cost more.
