Radix recently announced the successful completion of its Babylon mainnet upgrade, ushering in a new era of Web3 user and developer experience. This upgrade enables the deployment of Scrypto-based smart contracts and a wide swathe of new technologies and features.

Piers Ridyard, CEO of RDX Works, said, “The Babylon Upgrade means a new beginning for existing users, as well as those who were hesitant to embrace DeFi and Web3. An ecosystem awaits with powerful and secure dApps for our friends, family, and colleagues to confidently use.”

The Babylon upgrade is accompanied by five new products. These include the Radix Mobile Wallet, Radix Connect, Radix Dashboard, Developer Console, and Radix’s dApp Sandbox. The Mobile Wallet provides a secure way to manage accounts and hold assets, Radix Connect enables users to connect with dApps on desktop browsers, the Dashboard is a comprehensive explorer for the Radix Network, the Developer Console facilitates the integration of new software components, and the dApp Sandbox is a developer tool to experiment with requests.

Radix is a full-stack, layer-1 smart contract platform that offers a radically better experience for users and developers. It enables users to confidently use Web3 and DeFi to manage their assets and identities, and developers to build decentralised applications with the Radix Scrypto and Radix Engine.

The Babylon upgrade brings a range of features and enhancements that will empower the Web3 and DeFi space. It marks the end of the Olympia era and is a game-changing moment for the industry.
