This month we are highlighting the work of two teams that are doing incredible work in growing the Ethereum network.
Cougar For Education and Community Development in Japan
AI experts Cougar may not be the first people you think of when it comes to teaching people about Ethereum. But they have done more than just investigate the junction of Ethereum and AI. Not only have they tested a zero-knowledge voting protocol – they have become active educators and collaborators in Japan. Couger was awarded a 2020 sponsorship to host ETHTerakoya events, followed by a number of seminars and working groups. Most recently, they were granted a second grant to continue and expand on their existing work.

goalposter For Post-Hackathon Support
MetaCartel DAO is an association of builders that works to expedite the growth and development of the Ethereum network, particularly at the application layer. In 2020, they directed a lot of their attention to helping hackathon participants continue to develop software and dapps even after the hackathon was over. The ETH Online Virtual Hackathon was granted funds from the ESP grant as part of MetaCartel DAO’s effort to support post-hackathon activities.
MetaCartel DAO also provides mentorship for teams to refine their products and create sustainable business models. The following projects were awarded with small grants from MetaCartel DAO:
- CallA crypto community treasury center
- MindfulAutomate portfolio rebalancing, dollar cost average and portfolio rebalancing with a platform
- CoverA derivative protocol that utilizes on-chain oracles for trading on data streams
