This edition of the roundup will be highlighting four outstanding recipients of the recent wave of Local Grants distributed in Japan. We believe that it’s our responsibility to support teams working to solve interesting problems, improve public infrastructure, and create innovative blockchain applications.
First up is the team behind zkCREAM: Trusted Confidential Zero-Knowledge Anonymous Ethereum Mixer. This suite of protocols and apps allows for secure, reliable, anonymous, and verifiable voting. It is also supported by MACI, making it more resistant to collusion and trustworthy. The team aims to create a desktop and mobile voting app, as well as additional layers for common voting patterns.
Ryodan AG System is also a recipient. Their focus is on scalability and privacy and they are taking a multi-pronged approach to make zero-knowledgeproofs more accessible to developers. This includes authoring tools and protocol R&D, plus the zkCloud service to make the usage of zero-knowledgeproofs easier.
Move to the right is another recipient. The platform records the history and provenance of digital and physical works of art, making use of ERC721 and NFC chips. The team is also working on open-sourcing their smart contracts and expanding their infrastructure for the global market.
Finally, the team behind w3a.io is also part of the grants. The platform is used to verify the use rights of physical devices, and was first tested as a blockchain-based algorithm for car-sharing. The team hopes to use their platform for a variety of applications and are developing a mobile app for issuing certificates.
We thank everyone contributing to the real-world adoption of Ethereum. If you think your team might be the next recipient, please visit our grants page to learn more about the criteria.
