On June 26th, a Saratoga resident reported losing approximately $3 million to a fraudulent cryptocurrency investment. Later that evening, deputies responded to a suspicious person call at the Fellowship Plaza senior housing complex on Fruitvale Avenue and discovered the suspect was in possession of drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine, Adderall, Xanax, and had five outstanding warrants.
The following day, someone broke into an unlocked vehicle parked in front of Pet Food Express in the Argonaut Shopping Center on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road and stole a cellular phone, resulting in a total loss of $1,000.
On June 29th, a vehicle parked in the 18000 block of Vanderbilt Drive was tampered with, resulting in the theft of a catalytic converter with an estimated value of $3,000. Later that day, a firearm was negligently discharged in the 13000 block of Quito Road, shattering a window and damaging the interior of an unoccupied vehicle for a total of $1,000.
