SEC Could Approve Multiple Bitcoin ETFs Simultaneously – Cathie Wood

Published:

Cathie Wood, Founder and Chief Executive of Ark Invest, believes that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will likely extend the August 13th deadline for ruling on the Spot Bitcoin ETF application filed by her firm on May 15th.

In an interview with Bloomberg this morning, Wood also suggested that the financial regulator may approve multiple Bitcoin ETFs simultaneously. She remarked:

“I think SEC, if it’s going to approve a Bitcoin ETF, will approve more than one at once. Most of these will be same, and it’ll come down to marketing and communicating the message.”

Aside from Ark Invest, eight other firms have filed for a Bitcoin ETF. If approved, it would make it easier for investors to gain exposure to Bitcoin, which could explain the cryptocurrency’s 80% year-to-date rally.

Wood, however, has yet to comment on what she plans to do with her investment in Grayscale Bitcoin Trust, the third largest holding in her Ark Next Generation Internet ETF.
