Hello Ethereum Community!
Today, on January 31, 2018, I am officially concluding my role as Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation.
It has been a pleasure to be part of a team that has helped the Foundation to move from its early startup stage to a place of stability, providing the resources and infrastructure needed to support the changes and improvements in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.
We have all gone through different stages of growth together, and I am proud that the Foundation has established itself as a leader in the Ethereum Community and the larger global blockchain ecosystem.
I am delighted that the important work we have undertaken has been completed, with the successful launch of Frontier, Homestead, and Metropolis-1 (aka Byzantium). Now we can move onto the next stage of this journey.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new CEO and all the members of the team. It is important to allow time for any necessary organizational changes.
To all the team members, I want to express my sincere appreciation for having worked together over these past few years. Your contribution and friendship will stay with me forever. I will always be here to support you at the Foundation or wherever you may be, as I embark on my next journey.
I ask that the community and media focus on the ongoing, progressive developments in the Ethereum Community and the larger blockchain ecosystem, while I take the time to address some personal matters.
My best wishes to the new team members, as well as all of us who will continue to be part of the Foundation. May we all continue to grow and shine individually and together.
Ming Chan, Executive Director, Ethereum Foundation (Aug 1, 2015 – Jan 31, 2018).
