Donald Trump Criticizes Crypto as a “Hazardous” Investment as NFT Launch Occurs

Published:

Previous US President Donald Trump’s words of caution about cryptocurrency resurfaced on Friday as he was heard calling it “dangerous.” The viral video has gone mainstream as the former Republican Leader faces backlash online over the long-awaited announcement of his $99 non-fungible tokens (NFTs), with fictional artwork depicting him as a superhero, cowboy, astronaut, fighter pilot, and more.

Social media is abuzz with excitement over Trump’s interview from last December in which he called the NFT trend “dangerous.” His wife, Melania Trump, announced plans for her own NFT launch, which would cost 1 Solana, or about $180. The former First Lady is using NFTs to promote the United States and the launch was on the Solana blockchain, and no SOL cryptocurrency could be used to purchase it.

NFTs cannot be traded like cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, but the token is still considered a crypto asset because it is created with blockchain technology. In recent years, digital art has gained prominence, with celebrities launching their own NFTs, which have been sold for billions. Trump was mocked for his comments when Jeremy stated that he does not believe in cryptos. “I want a currency called the dollar, I don’t want to have all these others,” Trump said in an interview. Twitter users quickly mocked the former Republican leader, citing his conversation with Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo.

“That [crypto] there could be an explosion one day the likes of which we have never seen before. It will make the big tech bang look like baby stuff. I think it’s a very dangerous thing to do,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News. He added that he supports a strong US dollar.

Trump Roasted for Making an “Important Announcement”

Americans roasted the former US President Donald Trump on Thursday as he mocked them by saying he was making an “important announcement.” His “big” announcement was about the launch of a line of digital trading cards featuring his superhero persona. Many expressed anger at Trump, who had speculated that his announcement would have political implications and be related to the race for the House of Representatives. But it turned out that the former President was actually launching a new venture in the field of non-fungible tokens. However, this trend was several months behind.

Trump’s supporters were informed that he was charging $99 for each of his NFTs. The digital trading cards “feature the incredible art of my life and career!” He added that they were no less valuable than baseball cards but “I hope they’re much more exciting.” Responding to President Biden’s personal mockery of his predecessor on his Twitter account, he claimed he too had “some BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS” in the last few weeks. These included falling fuel prices and the signing of legislation to protect same-sex marriage.
