Ukrainian Pharmacy Chain Allows Cryptocurrency Payments

A major Ukrainian pharmacy chain has joined the growing list of businesses to accept cryptocurrencies through Binance Pay. The company has hundreds of stores throughout the war-torn nation and will now provide customers with an online payment option.

Consumers Can Now Use Cryptocurrency to Buy Medicines at ANC

Customers of the Ukrainian pharmacy chain ANC can now purchase drugs and other items using cryptocurrencies. A new payment option was made available on Tuesday, making it the first pharmacy in Europe to offer it.

As of January, you can make instant payments when buying pharmacy items. It will be possible to pay with crypto on Anc.ua!

Transactions will be processed via Binance Pay, a payment system developed by the world’s largest crypto exchange by trading volume. It allows users and companies around the world to spend, send, or receive more than 70 digital currencies, including Bitcoin.

To take advantage of this service, customers will need to download the Binance App, go to the ANC website to place an order, and pay the bill with Binance Pay. They can then pick up their purchases at any of the chain’s stores or have them delivered.

ANC owns and runs several pharmacies under its own brand and is affiliated with many other organizations. The company has more than 130 stores in Ukrainian cities and serves over 7 million customers annually. Crypto payments are initially available in the capital, Kyiv.

In recent years, Ukraine has become a regional leader in cryptocurrency adoption. After Russia’s invasion in late February, both the country’s government and volunteer organizations have used crypto donations to fund humanitarian and defense projects. The local industry has also supported them.

Binance Pay has been used by other Ukrainian firms to enable crypto payments. In September, a supermarket chain with over 100 stores, Varus, integrated the system. Customers in Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and other cities can now spend their coins on groceries.

In August, Ukrainian tech stores Tehnoezh and Stylus adopted crypto payments through Whitepay. The payment platform is similar to the one developed by Whitebit, an exchange with Ukrainian roots.
